Cosmic life and Extinctionism

What are the evidences of cosmic life ?

If earth can have life the probability is already non zero. That combined with the vastness of universe almost guarantees existence of cosmic life. But that's not it we have more evidences with current primitive technology itself that other planets have life.

Evidence number 1:

Organic molecules like nucleobases (the ones that make up dna), amino acids (that make up proteins) and even fatty acids have been found on asteroids. These are that very molecules that make up life. Organic molecules are commonly found everywhere.

The asteroids ryugu, bennu and the murchison meteorite all have been extensively researched. All nucleobases, many protein forming amino acids and carboxylic acids (fatty acids have been found)

Evidence number 2:

James webb telescope has found dimethyl di sulphide and dimethyl sulphide gases with a 99.7% acuuracy on kepler K2-18b an oceanic planet in the habitable zone of its star. These gases are consistent with having oceanic life and it's one of the closest evidences current technology has uncovered for cosmic life. But it's accuracy and non biological sources is still debated.

So if cosmic life is possible why hasn't it reached us ? (Fermi paradox)

I'll answer a better question. If cosmic life exists especially more advanced civilizations why haven't they caused cosmic extinction ? (Because a developed civilization high at empathy and logic can only derive extinctionist conclusion that's determinism)

Two probabilities:

1)    There is a limit to the most vast and thorough extinction possible and we don't fall under that limit.

2)    We are the first intelligent ones or one of the first intelligent civilizations co-evolving at the same time (First born hypothesis)

I have some points and evidences pointing to first born hypothesis:

1)    As universe ages metallicity (atoms with higher atomic numbers increases) along with population 1 stars like the sun which promotes terrestrial planets with stability mechanism like plate tectonics which require radioactive minerals to function. Plate tectonics and planet stability are vital for development of complex life.

2)    The third spirals of galaxies which formed way later in time are very good habitable zones since they have lesser star collisions unlike the 1st and 2nd. Our sun also is in milky way’s third spiral.

3)    About 92% of earth like planets are about to be born says NASA study.

4)    A lot of small stars like red dwarves spawn at a higher rate at a later point in a galaxy’s life. These burn for a long time allowing ample time for life to develop and scientists believe these stars are better at hosting planets with life.

Human civilization maybe one of the first and rare events that has happened at the universe at this point in time. Which means it maybe upto us to find a solution to universal suffering. The suffering that's about to come it's on us to search for an effective solution.

Not just that the above study also highlights the importance and moral obligation of researching for the most vast and thorough extinction. Because most suffering in the universe is about to come. There will be planets which develop sentient lives in the future and they may not even develop intelligent life forms to help themselves. So it's our moral obligation to search for the most vast and thorough extinction possible.

Is cosmic extinction possible ?

We live in an era where science and technology just began and is growing exponentially. But, we don't have all the answers yet with regards to science. Extinctionism is a practical movement that refuses to give people false hope and promises of utopia. But we know what we should do. The goal is clear ; we should research and determine what is the most vast and thorough extinction possible. Because that's all we can do and like it says it's the only possible effective solution.

So for example vacuum decay is a potential method for a beyond earth extinction. In this survey 18.8% scientists say that an artificially induced vacuum decay maybe possible in the future.

So what if vacuum decay is discovered to be possible ? Should we cause it ?

NO ! If there is a more vast and thorough extinction method than vacuum decay even under theory or scientific speculation we must continue the search for it. Our goal still remains the most vast and thorough extinction.

So what if vacuum decay is the most vast and thorough extinction ?

If scientific research confirms vacuum decay to be the most vast and thorough extinction then yes we try to cause it.

What if vacuum decay is proven impossible to be induced ?

Still the answer remains: we go for the most vast and thorough extinction possible. The search for the most vast and thorough extinction remains our firm goal. And cannot be challenged by any scientific impossibility because we accept scientific impossibility. If nothing else we can engineer a peaceful extinction for living beings on earth.

But, forget 18.8% even if there is 0.00001% possibility of a more vast and thorough extinction we have a moral obligation to look for it. Because even at this 21st century we have lots of evidences pointing to suffering being widespread and that most suffering is about to come. This makes it our moral obligation to risk our own suffering in search of a more effective and a permanent solution to suffering.

Extinctionists will and should never talk about science fiction solutions they make at home. Non science activists do not need to talk about science. As I said above the most vast and thorough extinction remains unshakable that's enough for activism.
